Creative Writing
This Literature
Circle Unit focuses on creative writing in a 4th grade classroom.
It introduces the idea of being creative in writing, in addition to the
publication process. Throughout the unit, students will work on inventing
words and creating a new class dictionary. Also, students will create
a class paper with each person contributing an article using some of their
new words. In this unit, the roles of character sketcher, discussion
director, passage picker, word wizard, and other corresponding roles will
be introduced to students.
